At (from a) Home in Grant Park.

This guy is rad. A Resurgens print framed up with wood from an old house in Grant Park, a neighborhood in Atlanta.

Brought to you by the man behind Blackrabbet Framing in Atlanta. Look him up. His work looks really impressive.

Old Try on Taigan

This week, we launched over on Taigan.  It's a collection of great boutiques and unique products, and it's great to be in such lovely company.  Their site abounds with neat gift ideas or a little something special for yourself.

Check out our store.

When in Mississippi (Mag)

So danged excited to find ourselves in the pages of Mississippi Magazine this month.

I'd gotten a call that they were going to be featuring five creatives minds with ties to the great state of Mississippi, and I reckon they think we are one of the good ones. Really honored to be in the same company as SwingLab, Unink Design, Posha Beauty & Earth's Friend Furniture.

If you are jonesing to read about us, you got to grab a copy, as the story isn't online (and if you happen to be searching for a copy in Alabama, well, good luck [as we learned after trying four different bookstores]). And while you're at it, you can dig through everybody who's gotten married in the last year. Might find somebody you went to high school with.

At Home in Cleveland.

All four Dinner & in a Southern restaurant in Cleveland, Ohio, called SOHO Kitchen and Bar. Which, of course, stands for Southern Hospitality and not for that geographic area of Manhattan that could stand to use more biscuits.

After seeing how good their food looks, I think a road trip might be in order. And so glad to see they are holding Southern court in Ohio.

Winter Storm!

Just saw on the weather website that we might be in for a storm on Monday night into Tuesday. Absolutely fine by me. We love snow. Tons of it. Frequently. Two years ago when we had 80" we were in hog heaven. And it has been a couple of years since we've been here for a good one.

So, in order to jinx us fully, I'm going to make a post of Boston scenes in winter. I was tipped off  by a post from A Continuous Lean. And you can see the whole (amazing) collection from the Boston Public Library Archives right here. Light a fire, pull up the iPad and get shivering.

Dawn Revisited

Dawn Revisited

By Rita Dove

Imagine you wake up
with a second chance: The blue jay
hawks his pretty wares
and the oak still stands, spreading
glorious shade. If you don't look back,

the future never happens.
How good to rise in sunlight,
in the prodigal smell of biscuits-
eggs and sausage on the grill.
The whole sky is yours

to write on, blown open
to a blank page. Come on,
Shake a leg! You'll never know
who's down there, frying those eggs,
if you don't get up and see.

At West End: Purveyors of some of the finest in rustic and recycled home decor on the planet.

Like if you took a Robert Redford view of art decorating your house, you could pretty much grab a handful of pieces, maybe one of the deer heads with sticks for antlers, or a cast iron pig door stop, and then maybe an Edison light or two, then set your camera apature to something like a 1.4, so you can get the glow, and then just a slight camera pan. And boom. You've got the coolest looking house on Vimeo.

A lot of that warmth and feeling that AWE exudes is from our good buddy Bradley, who is the Creative Director there. Also, that is why Land Vs. Ocean is so awesome. Cause he's the force of good behind that one too. So, when he told us he was going to pop our Land Vs. Ocean print in the catalog, we were way on board. I mean, we get to be put in a collection with a bunch of really beautiful pieces. So, we're surrounded by goodness. Therefore, we = goodness. I think that's how the math works.

Whatever the case, head over and check them out. At West End really are doing some amazing things down in Mississippi.

The Rules of Evidence.

The Rules of Evidence
By Lee Robinson
What you want to say most
is inadmissible.
Say it anyway.
Say it again.
What they tell you is irrelevant
can't be denied and will
eventually be heard.
Every question
is a leading question.
Ask it anyway, then expect
what you won't get.
There is no such thing
as the original
so you'll have to make do
with a reasonable facsimile.
The history of the world
is hearsay. Hear it.
The whole truth
is unspeakable
and nothing but the truth
is a lie.
I swear this.
My oath is a kiss.
I swear
by everything

At Home in Vienna

An AL / LA couple who met in DC but both still long for the deep south.

"Love, love, love your prints (and blog).  I smile every time I walk by the "Sweet Home" picture."

What we're looking at now.

18 days, 5 states, 2345 miles later, we're back in NC and Boston bound. #ramblings #homeward
