Back in stock. Thank God for Mississippi. That's the cheap shot us Alabamians would toss over state lines as we jockeyed for last place in a bunch of different national categories. Of course, fate had different plans as I wandered west for college and found myself becoming educated at Ole Miss. And as I've moved on up the East Coast, I've found that education is just what we make of it. There are bright folks from the South who've gone on and changed the world. And the world is a better place for it. In that spirit, we're going to donate a portion of the proceeds from this print to schools in Mississippi via DonorsChoose.org, a non-profit focusing on education & literacy. Cause we think everybody deserves a good shot.

Back in stock! Back in 1803, when we made the Purchase, Napoleon said, "This accession of territory affirms forever the power of the United States, and I have given England a maritime rival who sooner or later will humble her pride." Fast forward to '95, when 18 year-olds were still able to drink there. (They prolly would've let the fifteen year-old me.) And they still didn't have counties. And they still spoke different languages. And I ate alligator and I got lost and I got found in the French Quarter. I made it back several times in college, down to the Gulf, and heard stories of the Pelican State by my roommate from Ruston. They're good folks, letting good times roll – rolling with all the punches that the weather and the rest of the country and history throw their way. They are a proud lot. A good lot. With more culture and heart than most of us other Southerners can lay claim to. And she's still humbling England.

Back in stock! Old timers in the Bluegrass State will tell you the truth. That Kentucky has been racing horses for at least a hundred and thirty years and making bourbon for a century before that. Which means you ain't gonna beat them on the track, in the rickhouse, or in the Wikipedia history article. So you might as well just place your bet, grab a pour, and toast to two fine American pastimes that have been distilled to perfection in the South.

It's the first day of winter which means the snows aren't far off. I'm thankful that our neighbors @curlygirldesign are just a short walk next door with kiddos for Annie to play with, kind words for us all to ruminate on, and boxes and boxes of chocolate.

It’s that time of year again, gang. That time where we release a limited edition, numbered-on-press, holiday print, and where y’all ask if you can buy one and we say “Alas, no. They are gifts for our very best customers.” BUT! There’s hope! This year you can be a very best customer too and enter to win one in several ways. We’re giving away like 7 prints. Maybe 8. 1. Leave a review on theoldtry.com. Just go review a purchase you’ve made. You can scroll down the product pages themselves and there’s a box. Or make up a review (don’t tell our legal team about it). BAM! One entry. 2. Give us some love on Instagram here. Take a picture of your Old Try print, and tag it with #printsgoinghome and mention us. BOOM! One entry. 3. Give us a shoutout on Twitter. Here, I’ll even write your post. “Have y’all checked out the goodness at @theoldtry? Pretty sure Santa can just do all my shopping there. theoldtry.com” BLAMMO! One entry. 4. Purchase a official Red Ryder, carbine action, two-hundred shot range model air rifle. NO! You'll shoot your eye out. That’s it. You’ve got until midnight tomorrow to enter. Winners will receive prints in the mail. The rest of y’all will have to hope for a Christmas miracle. - Micah & Marianna

I've slept atop Laconte and I've hiked up Clingman's and I've vacationed in Gatlinburg and I hate to see those places covered in smoke. We're preselling this print, and we're going to donate $30 per sale to the City of Pigeon Forge Fire Relief Fund. These should be printed and shipped within three weeks or so. Spead the word. Let's help out those neighbors in need. (Thanks to @georgekrauth for the request.)

What we're looking at now.

We're releasing a new print this Saturday in partnership with @atltrinity. Proceeds will be going to their missions in Atlanta that, amongst other things, acknowledge the dignity of the Atlanta's homeless. The folks of Trinity are trying to be a bright spot in a bustling city, and we're extremely humbled to partner up with them to help bring a little bit of heaven to those who are on the up. We'll be selling these at Tinsel & Twine at @westsideprovisions from 10-4 on Saturday. So, if you happen to be in town for the SEC Championship Game, or happen to be local, come say hi and help out the cause. See you in the A.

As this holiday season cranks up, take a minute to remember that the most generous thing we can give is our time. Time at our table. Time with our families. Time listening. Time laughing. Time crying. Time serving. Somebody you know could use a little bit of you. We've got one month. Let's warm it and hearts and our homes by giving much more of ourselves this year. What we're looking at now.

For my wife, my daughter and my momma who are all here on this day. For my sister who will be a momma to a little boy come March. For my daddy and my brothers who are everywhere from Alabama to Japan to Florida. For the freedom to roam this big old world. For the political process and for the ability to disagree and for the ability to come together and for the fact that there are some things that are even bigger than our disagreements. I'm thankful for for Grace. For Mercy. For Unconditional Love. I'm thankful there were folks who were there to whup my ass and get it back in line when I fell out. I'm thankful for bourbon and the explosion of craft beers and the Ole Miss Rebels and Roy Williams and the Chicago Cub,s who showed us that we can hope for generations and that hope can win. I'm thankful for just about everyone who has come through my life. I'm not thankful for those who left too soon. But I'm thankful for that realization that they had so much more to give this joint before they left. I'm thankful for the ability to turn a side project into a hobby. Thankful that we've got customers who come back time and again because they want to support a small, hustling business. I'm thankful for voice activated remote controls. I'm thankful for this cup of high-octane coffee. Thankful for choice. Thankful for chance. Thankful for acceptance. I'm thankful for thanks. Hell yes! Hallelujah! Pass the gravy!

First up, here's our wishes for safe travels home this Thanksgiving. And if you happen to be coming to Plymouth in search of the original American turkey dinner, check this detour out. We're doing a Pop-Up at Boston's historic Faneuil Hall this Sunday from 12-7. Now, as a history geek, I couldn't be more excited. Old Try is going to be selling at Faneuil Hall, gang. This place has been around since 1742, has heard speeches from Samuel Adams and James Otis, and is now going to be home, at least for a day, to the very finest Southern letterpress prints made in the Original 13. Get on by @1630boston this Sunday, and say hi. And please pass the gravy.
