What we're looking at now.


I've slept atop Laconte and I've hiked up Clingman's and I've vacationed in Gatlinburg and I hate to see those places covered in smoke. We're preselling this print, and we're going to donate $30 per sale to the City of Pigeon Forge Fire Relief Fund. These should be printed and shipped within three weeks or so. Spead the word. Let's help out those neighbors in need. (Thanks to @georgekrauth for the request.)

We're releasing a new print this Saturday in partnership with @atltrinity. Proceeds will be going to their missions in Atlanta that, amongst other things, acknowledge the dignity of the Atlanta's homeless. The folks of Trinity are trying to be a bright spot in a bustling city, and we're extremely humbled to partner up with them to help bring a little bit of heaven to those who are on the up. We'll be selling these at Tinsel & Twine at @westsideprovisions from 10-4 on Saturday. So, if you happen to be in town for the SEC Championship Game, or happen to be local, come say hi and help out the cause. See you in the A.

What we're looking at now.


For my wife, my daughter and my momma who are all here on this day. For my sister who will be a momma to a little boy come March. For my daddy and my brothers who are everywhere from Alabama to Japan to Florida. For the freedom to roam this big old world. For the political process and for the ability to disagree and for the ability to come together and for the fact that there are some things that are even bigger than our disagreements. I'm thankful for for Grace. For Mercy. For Unconditional Love. I'm thankful there were folks who were there to whup my ass and get it back in line when I fell out. I'm thankful for bourbon and the explosion of craft beers and the Ole Miss Rebels and Roy Williams and the Chicago Cub,s who showed us that we can hope for generations and that hope can win. I'm thankful for just about everyone who has come through my life. I'm not thankful for those who left too soon. But I'm thankful for that realization that they had so much more to give this joint before they left. I'm thankful for the ability to turn a side project into a hobby. Thankful that we've got customers who come back time and again because they want to support a small, hustling business. I'm thankful for voice activated remote controls. I'm thankful for this cup of high-octane coffee. Thankful for choice. Thankful for chance. Thankful for acceptance. I'm thankful for thanks. Hell yes! Hallelujah! Pass the gravy!

First up, here's our wishes for safe travels home this Thanksgiving. And if you happen to be coming to Plymouth in search of the original American turkey dinner, check this detour out. We're doing a Pop-Up at Boston's historic Faneuil Hall this Sunday from 12-7. Now, as a history geek, I couldn't be more excited. Old Try is going to be selling at Faneuil Hall, gang. This place has been around since 1742, has heard speeches from Samuel Adams and James Otis, and is now going to be home, at least for a day, to the very finest Southern letterpress prints made in the Original 13. Get on by @1630boston this Sunday, and say hi. And please pass the gravy.

What we're looking at now.


Yesterday in the mail I received the most wonderful package. It was from my wife's aunt. In it was her father's 1941 UNC football manager sweater. "Micah, we are downsizing. This is daddy's from college. I wore it some in the 70s. I'd like you to have it." It fits me like a glove. Now, Mr. Hogue is a legend. He's 95. A lawyer by trade, and he still makes it into the office some days. He was in Gimghoul. The Monogram Club. He managed the football team with gusto despite going 3-7 (something familiar to an Ole Miss alum). He is a WWII vet. And every day, at 4:30 on the dot, his sits down with his wife of 65 years and has Quality Time. They have a drink, and share in each other presence. On my wedding day, and every time we speak, he reminds me how he's stayed married for so long. "Love and forgiveness, Micah. That's all." I'm honored to have his sweater. I will wear it on crisp autumn days and tell our little one, as she grows bigger, about the giant she has for a great-grandfather.
