Today is Patriots’ Day in New England. On this day, we remember the battles of Lexington and Concord and The Shot Heard Round The World, we cheer on the 40,000 runners braving Heartbreak Hill and the Boston Marathon, and we take in an afternoon Red Sox game, and we bask in the arrival of spring. But not today. It’s 35, the game was postponed for rain. Bless those hearty souls out there putting in the miles after all the miles they put in to get here. Bless those reenactors marching from Bunker Hill to Concord in wool trousers. Bless those plants just waiting on a day warm enough to break through the soil. This is New England. And this is home.
